Puttaiah BDS, MPH, a Public Health Dentist, completed an MPH and Residency at University of Alabama at Birmingham and was the first recipient of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Inc. Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Infectious Disease Control in Dentistry Award at UTHSC-SA Dental School (1993-1996). In 2019, he retired as a Tenured Professor from Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas, USA. He has presented CDE and Lectures at over 400 venues worldwide in dental safety. He is a well published scholar and researcher. He crafted the Dental Safety Standards for India which was released by the Hon. Prime Minister of India (2008). Dr. Puttaiah has been an invited speaker on dental infection control and safety in the United States, India, Mexico, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Russia, Italy, Jamaica, China, Lebanon, the Middle East. He has developed comprehensive programs on Dental Infection Control, OSHA and HIPAA that are currently available for dental teams in the United States. He has served as the Scientific Director of the International College of Dentists for ICDâ€™s Dental Safety Programs. He lives in Olney, MD

1. You will first need to undestand the CDC’s recommendations and guidelines on Dental Infection Control (2 or 4 hours of CDE). State boards need 2 horsrs per year, or 4 hours per year of CDE (Mandatory)
2. Annual Proof of training in OSHA (federal requirement)
3. The OCR/HHS (federal requirement) needs proof of training in HIPAA once every 2 years (Mandatory)
